What is the maximum occupancy?
The cottage sleeps up to 8 adults, plus 1 infant in a travel cot.

How many bedrooms are there?
There are four bedrooms in total: 2 kings, 1 double & 1 twin.

Are all the bedrooms on the 1st floor?
No, there is a double on the ground floor, but there is a small step up to it.

Do we have to book the whole cottage, even if we are a smaller party?
No, the ground floor bedroom plus downstairs shower room can be closed off, so we also offer a three-bedroom option at a lower rate.

Are the twin beds child or adult size?
They are full size 3’ single beds suitable for adults.

Is there on-site parking?
Due to the age of the cottages in Irsha Street, there is no on-site parking.  However, it is customary for residents to load/unload shopping and passengers outside their cottage before parking up.  Free on-street parking can often be found on nearby Torridge Road, which is linked via a small public footpath adjacent to the cottage.  There are also two Pay & Display car parks 500 yards away, both offering hourly, daily and weekly parking (a weekly ticket costs £16 or you can purchase a tourist permit online for £25 that can be used in other Torridge district car parks).  The Quay offers parking free of charge 6pm-8am and has Blue Badge holder bays as well as charging facilities for electric vehicles.

Are there any extra charges for heating, Wi-Fi etc?
No, everything is included in the rental price.

What is the broadband speed?
The cottage has high speed fibre broadband (with a download speed of
40 - 44  mbps).

Do we need to bring baby/children’s equipment?
We provide a complimentary travel cot, highchair, changing mat and children’s cutlery, so no need to worry about bringing those. There is also a self-fixing detachable stairgate for guests to use at their own discretion/risk.

Are towels and bedding provided?
All beds will be made up ready for your arrival and we provide one bath towel per guest and one hand towel per bathroom.  Please bring your own beach towels, if required.

Do we need to bring toiletries etc?
We provide essentials starters such as toilet paper, soap, tea towels, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags but you will need to bring your own shampoo, shower gel,  etc.

Can we bring our dog(s)?
No, Catboat Cottage is strictly a pet-free accommodation.

Is the cottage accessible for guests with mobility issues?
As a 200 year old property that has been extended and modernised, Catboat Cottage is on different levels with small steps between most of the room including steps leading up to the terraced garden (see our accessibility guide for more information).

What are the check-in / check-out times?
Check-in is from 5.00pm and we kindly ask guests to vacate the property by10.00am.

What is the check-in process?
For your convenience, we operate a contact-free self check-in; you will be sent further information shortly before your arrival date.
