What is the maximum occupancy? Catboat Cottage sleeps up to 8 guests, plus 1 infant (up to 24 months old) in a travel cot. Sailor Vie sleeps up to 6 guests plus 1 infant (up to 24 months old) in a travel cot. There is no additional charge for the travel cot or high chair.
How many bedrooms are there? Catboat Cottage has four bedrooms in total: 2 kings, 1 double & 1 twin. Sailor Vie has three bedrooms in total: 1 king and 2 doubles
Are all the bedrooms on the first floor? At Catboat Cottage, there are three bedrooms on the first floor and a double bedroom on the ground floor, which has a small step up to enter. Sailor Vie's bedrooms are all on the first floor. See the floor plan in our Accessibility Guide for more information.
Do we have to book the whole cottage, even if we are a smaller party? At Catboat Cottage, the ground floor bedroom plus downstairs shower room can be closed off. We offer the three-bedroom option at a lower rate.
Is there on-site parking? Due to the age of the cottages in Irsha Street, there is no on-site parking. However, it is customary for residents to load/unload shopping and passengers outside their cottage before parking up. Free on-street parking can often be found on nearby Torridge Road (25 yards away from Catboat Cottage), which is linked via a small public footpath adjacent to the cottage. From Sailor Vie, the Torridge Road is 35 yards. There are also three Pay & Display car parks. Two are 160 yards away from Catboat Cottage and the third is 800 yards away. All offer hourly, daily and weekly parking. A weekly ticket costs £30 or you can purchase a tourist permit online for £50 (this can be used in other Torridge district car parks). The Quay car park offers parking free of charge 6pm-8am. Blue Badge holder bays are available as well as charging facilities for electric vehicles.
Are there any extra charges for heating, Wi-Fi, cleaning etc? No, this is all included in the rate.
What is the broadband speed? The cottages have high-speed fibre broadband (with a download speed of 40 - 44 mbps).
Are towels and bedding provided? All beds will be made up ready for your arrival. We provide one bath towel per guest and one hand towel per bathroom. Please bring your own beach towels, if required.
Are the twin beds at Catboat Cottage child or adult size? They are full size 3’ single beds suitable for adults.
Do we need to bring baby/children’s equipment? We provide a complimentary travel cot and highchair for our younger guests. For safety reasons, we ask you to bring your own cot bedding. A changing mat and children’s cutlery is also available. You can find a selection of bedtime stories in the twin bedroom at Catboat Cottage. There is also a self-fixing detachable stair gate for guests to use at their own discretion/risk.
Do we need to bring toiletries? We provide a few essentials to start you off: Toilet paper (1 per bathroom) Hand soap & body wash Shampoo & Conditioner Body lotion can be found in each bathroom.
Can we bring our dog? Yes, Catboat Cottage and Sailor Vie welcomes 2 well-behaved dogs per booking. Dog bowls, treats and temporary dog tags are provided. You need to bring a bed for your four-legged friend.
Are the cottages accessible for guests with mobility issues? Please see our Accessibility guide for full details and floor plans that include the location of steps. There are steps of differing heights leading up to the terraced garden (please see our accessibility guide for more information).
What are the check-in / check-out times? Check-in is from 3:30pm and we kindly ask guests to vacate the property by1 0:00am. We aim to get guests checked in before 3:30pm - we will call you on the day to let you know as soon as the cottage is ready for you.
What is the check-in process? For your convenience, we operate a contact-free self check-in. You will be sent further information shortly before your arrival date.
What is the cancellation policy? A non-refundable deposit is payable on booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before your stay. Please see our Booking Conditions for more information. We recommend you take out appropriate travel insurance cover.
