Here is some useful information about Catboat Cottage that will hopefully answer any questions you might have. But if not, please do get in touch and we’ll be happy to help!
What is the maximum occupancy? The cottage sleeps up to 8 adults, plus 1 infant (up to 24 months old) in a travel cot. There is no additional charge for the travel cot or high chair.
How many bedrooms are there? There are four bedrooms in total: 2 kings, 1 double & 1 twin. The three bedroom option includes the 3 first floor bedrooms, (one with en suite shower room) and a family bathroom. The bedrooms comprise of 2 king size rooms and 1 twin bedded room. The four bedroom option includes the above as well as the ground floor double bedroom with separate shower room.
Are all the bedrooms on the first floor? No, there are three bedrooms on the first floor and a double bedroom on the ground floor, which has a small step up to it.
Do we have to book the whole cottage, even if we are a smaller party? No, the ground floor bedroom plus downstairs shower room can be closed off. We also offer a three-bedroom option at a lower rate.
Is there on-site parking? Due to the age of the cottages in Irsha Street, there is no on-site parking. However, it is customary for residents to load/unload shopping and passengers outside their cottage before parking up. Free on-street parking can often be found on nearby Torridge Road (25 yards away), which is linked via a small public footpath adjacent to the cottage. There are also three Pay & Display car parks. Two are 160 yards away and the third is 800 yards away . All offer hourly, daily and weekly parking. A weekly ticket costs £22.50 or you can purchase a tourist permit online for £40. (This can be used in other Torridge district car parks). The Quay car park offers parking free of charge 6pm-8am. Blue Badge holder bays are available as well as charging facilities for electric vehicles.
Are there any extra charges for heating, Wi-Fi etc? No, everything is included in the rental price.
What is the broadband speed? The cottage has high speed fibre broadband (with a download speed of 40 - 44Â mbps).
Are towels and bedding provided? All beds will be made up ready for your arrival and we provide one bath towel per guest and one hand towel per bathroom. Please bring your own beach towels, if required.
Are the twin beds child or adult size? They are full size 3’ single beds suitable for adults.
Do we need to bring baby/children’s equipment? We provide a complimentary travel cot, highchair, changing mat and children’s cutlery, so no need to worry about bringing those. There is also a self-fixing detachable stairgate for guests to use at their own discretion/risk.
Do we need to bring toiletries etc? We provide essentials starters such as toilet paper, soap, tea towels, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, and bin bags. You will need to bring your own shampoo, shower gel, etc.
Can we bring our dog(s)/pet(s)? No, Catboat Cottage is strictly a pet-free accommodation.
Is the cottage accessible for guests with mobility issues? As a 200 year old property that has been extended and modernised, Catboat Cottage is on different levels. With steps between most of the rooms, including steps leading up to the terraced garden (see our accessibility guide for more information).
What are the check-in / check-out times? Check-in is from 5.00pm and we kindly ask guests to vacate the property by10.00am.
What is the check-in process? For your convenience, we operate a contact-free self check-in. You will be sent further information shortly before your arrival date.
What is the cancellation policy? Once the deposit has been paid, all bookings are deemed as firm, with no refunds available. We therefore recommend you take out appropriate travel insurance cover, just in case.
